  • Jim Rogers cautiously bullish on China stocks

Reuters-Jim Rogers sees opportunities in Chinese
companies involved in sectors such as environmental
protection, water, green energy, railways and
education, where the government and public were
expected to spend a lot of money. "If you invest in
bonds anywhere in the world, sell it," he said. "If you
invest in shares, think of Asia," he added.

Uranium falls after Japan nuclear leak

The price of uranium, the fuel of the nuclear industry,
has suffered its first fall in more than four years - after
rising more than 10-fold. A radioactive leak at Japan's

increase sharply in the next decade as new nuclear
power plants come on line in addition to the current
    437 reactors.

Heilongjiang province, a major grain base of China,
the local meteorological station warned parts of the
province may experience a once-in-50-year drought as
no significant rainfall is forecast in the next week.

China: City traffic cops given 43 years to live

Chinese city traffic police have an average life
expectancy of just 43 years because of the dire
working conditions and pollution, state media said on
Tuesday. More than 90 percent of the 2,746 traffic
police who underwent a check-up in Guangzhou had
infections, the China Daily quoted the Guangzhou
Hospital of Vocational Disease Control and
    Prevention as saying.
