  • Jim Rogers Says China Equities, Commodities Will Boom

(Bloomberg) Rogers said if he looks for new
    opportunities in
commodities today, he would start with agriculture. ``I
think there will be fortunes made in agriculture in the
next decade.'' He is looking at cotton, coffee, wheat,
soybeans and sugar. ``Over the next few years,
China's stock market will be one of the best in the
world,'' Rogers told a forum in Beijing on June 24.

    Atlanta's ICE buys Winnepeg Exchange

Add canola oil to the growing menu of commodities
    traded by Atlanta-based IntercontinentalExchange.
The deal is valued at $40 million, Canadian, or $62.08
per share. Founded in 1887 as the Winnepeg Grain
and Produce Exchange, the WCE also trades Western
barley futures and feed wheat futures

Australia: Wheat harvest is raining supreme

Autumn's drought-breaking rains have set the scene
for a bumper wheat harvest of 22.5 million tonnes this
season, more than double last year's crop. The likely
turnaround on Australian farms comes as global grain
stocks are in danger of falling to a 30-year low,
because of a weather-disrupted US harvest, and
drought in the Ukraine and Russia

    Australia: Largest Ever Cattle Shipment

The cargo consisted of 20,060 cattle and 2,564 sheep
and goats. There has only ever been one larger
shipment of cattle in the world, which was 100 more
than this, on the same ship from Freemantle to the
    Middle East in 2002."
