Base metal prices fell on Friday and were seen
holding lower levels on fears of inflation and a
slowdown in demand from China, analysts said. The
drop came after the LME moved to change market
rules to free up more metal.

Australia's currency has risen 5.6 percent this year as
a measure of six metals on the London Metal
Exchange gained 13.6 percent. Mining and energy
exports account for half of Australia's shipments.

| Scrap Sellers Find Profits in Beer Kegs |

In the state with the nation's highest unemployment
rate, retail beer customers have been selling off
stainless steel beer kegs - fetching soaring prices at
scrap yards - rather than returning them to stores to
get their $10 deposit back.
